Australian PFL Flyweight Chelsea Hackett (4-1-1) is without a doubt one of the biggest threats in this year’s inaugural Women’s PFL Flyweight tournament. The 25-year-old Gold Coast native will become the third Aussie to compete in a PFL Tournament behind 2022 Light Heavyweight champion, Rob Wilkinson and 2023 Welterweight participant Shane Mitchell, where the winner will secure a million-dollar pot prize and be crowned champion of that respective weight class.
2024 will see the PFL introduce a new weight class. The Women’s 125lbs division is arguably the best weight class in Women’s MMA. From the UFC with fighters like long-reigning champion, Valentina Shevchenko to current undisputed Flyweight champion Alexa Grasso, the widely considered industry number two, the PFL has garnered interest with the introduction of this year’s tournament and the caliber of women competing in it.
Among the participants in this year’s tournament are former UFC title challenger Taila Santos, former UFC title challenger and current Bellator Flyweight champion Liz Carmouche, and PFL Euopre Flyweight champion, Dakota Ditcheva. Hackett will no doubt have some stiff opposition in front of her.

Chelsea Hackett takes on Jena Bishop at PFL 1 in San Antonio, Texas, April 4th
Speaking in a yet-to-be-released interview with From The Stands, Hackett reveals why she hasn’t given much thought to the other women in her bracket.
“I have a job to do that’s all I’m thinking about. I know that they’re veterans and a lot of them are a lot older as well. They’re in their mid to late thirties, they’ve been in the UFC they’re coming over to the PFL for their second shot as such. You’ve got girls like me and Dakota (Ditcheva) we’re 25. We’re young, we’re hungry you know we’re not backing down and we’re definitely not going to be walked through. We’re coming to fight”
Hackett went on to say:
“Of course, I respect their experience but it’s going to be a competitive game and I’m coming to win. So I really don’t care who of those girls is in front of me, I’ll take them out one by one, go up the ladder, and then we get to the top”
In just twelve days’ time, Hackett returns to the PFL for its 2024 season. She takes on former Bellator Flyweight, Jena Bishop (6-0). Hackett will no doubt be looking for a dominant showing, putting herself on the map as a force to be reckoned with in this year’s tournament.
The 2024 PFL season officially kicks off on April 4th in San Antonio, Texas at PFL 1. Available to watch in Australia through Stan Sport.
